 Bridging Nations, Empowering Veterans for Stronger Ukraine

Veteran Diplomacy is a non-governmental initiative dedicated to leveraging the unique skills and experiences of military veterans to promote peace, stability, and development around the world. Founded on the belief that veterans possess invaluable expertise in conflict resolution, leadership, and resilience, Veteran Diplomacy harnesses these qualities to address some of the most pressing global challenges we face today.

Quick facts

🇺🇦 Ukraine: Over 1.3 million veterans

As of 2025, Ukraine has more than 1.3 million veterans, including ~900,000 mobilized since 2022. Key needs include rehabilitation, employment reintegration, housing, and business support through programs like e-Veteran and Diia.Business.

🇫🇷 France: Over 1.5 million veterans

France supports its veteran population through ONaCVG, offering healthcare, pensions, and legal protections. Reintegration and commemoration are central pillars of national policy.

🇳🇱 Netherlands: Civil-military integration focus

The Netherlands has a smaller but active veteran community. Support includes the Veteraneninstituut, providing mental health care, education, and reintegration for former service members.

🇺🇸 United States: ~17.8 million veterans

The U.S. offers one of the world’s most comprehensive support systems through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), including healthcare, education (GI Bill), employment training, and housing assistance.
